About Us
Our little slice of heaven
Home is 40 acres about an hour east of Dallas, with horses, cows, dogs, cats, and four children we have watched grow up alongside our goldens. Scott is the Assistant Director of Caldwell Zoo in Tyler, Texas with a degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M. Between us we have raised, shown, and lived with generations of Golden Retrievers.
Julie and David gave us our first grandchild, David Lane. Randi graduated from Texas A&M and is in graduate school at TWU in Houston studying physical therapy. Peter and Beth round out our crew of four.
How we breed
Every breeding we do at Dogwood Springs uses sires and dams cleared, at minimum, for OFA hips and elbows, and evaluated by board-certified ophthalmologists and cardiologists. We share the full paperwork with every family.
Our goldens are bred to the AKC written standard, with a calm and biddable temperament that has taken our puppies into the show ring, obedience, hunting, and therapy work. Puppies go home no earlier than seven weeks of age.
Where we belong
We are members of the Golden Retriever Club of America, the Natural State Golden Retriever Club, the Tyler Kennel Club, and Texas Golden Breeders. We are proud sponsors of DFW Metro Golden Retriever Rescue and the annual Sporting Chance Golf Tournament.
Dogwood Springs is an AKC Breeder of Merit.
